Summary :
Assists human resources officer in activities including but not limited to employment and employee relations, processes payroll and coordinates benefits.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Assists HR Officer with administration of company-wide human resource policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements
  • Assists in processing payroll
  • Assists in balances payroll and prepares general ledger entries
  • Assists with tracking time, attendance, sick leave usage, overtime
  • Assists in preparing 401(k) report for 401(k) administrators bimonthly
  • Assists in coordinating vacation schedule, tracking eligibility and availability
  • Assists in compensating directors
  • Posts job openings in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Assists with recruits and job applicants
  • Assists with the coordination of the hiring process, including but not limited to conducting background and reference checks
  • Assists with verifying and maintaining I-9 documentation, verifies new hires through Social Security Administration and E-Verify
  • Assists with reporting new hires to Texas Attorney General’s Office
  • Assists in maintaining employee files
  • Assists with the Affirmative Action Program, files EEO-1 and VET 100 report annually, maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations
  • Assists with registration and renews licensing for appropriate employees with the National Mortgage Licensing System
  • Responds to inquiries regarding the Bank’s processes, policies, procedures and programs
  • Assists in coordination with the distribution/communication of projects including but not limited to the Officer and Employee Handbook, 401(k) contributions and insurance open enrollment
  • Assists with updates to the employee handbook, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Works with the Human Resource Officer on coordinating administration of workers’ compensation and unemployment claims
  • Assists with writing and updating job descriptions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Attends training and conducts research to stay informed of regulatory changes to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations concerning employment
  • Assists in health plans including enrollment, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions
  • Assists in administering COBRA, ensuring compliance with communications and processes
  • Assists in preparing workforce report for the Bureau of Labor Statistics quarterly
  • Assists in reconciling benefit statements, reviewing bills for accuracy and resolving discrepancies with carriers
  • Assists in coordinating the performance review process
  • Assists with administering the employee uniform program, processing orders, distributing and billing
  • Gathers and prepares information for auditors and examiners
  • Reviews of employee bank statements to ensure compliance with banking regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned by senior management

Experience:
  • Three years related experience or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of human resources principles and practices, including employment law, Affirmative Action, and Equal Employment Opportunity compliance
  • Working knowledge of payroll procedures and the Fair Labor Standards Act
